As a mom, you'll become capable of things you never thought you could do...live off virtually no sleep, clean up all sorts of bodily fluids without throwing up, never get bored reading the same story over and over, etc....
Dear Mommy, Please remind me each day that God loves me very much and that He has a very special plan for my life and that it's going to be EXCITING to see what that plan will be. And even though I can't say it yet, I LOVE YOU, MOMMY! Your little Jellybean
Everyones's going to tell you how to do it and what to do. Take it all in but remember, You are going to be a wonderful mom and dad and you will know just what is best for you and your blessed one. Love every minute of every stage because they're only small for such a short time. Love from a mom
Toilet water is clean enough! (I do keep a pretty clean toilet and i just found Jack "swishing" the water when I wasn't looking). There are going to be days when you think you have had enough. You will mourn the loss of days before children, you will cry for no reason and you will probably be mad at Adam when he doesn't even deserve it. Make sure you take time for yourself. You won't think you need it at first. Nothing like the time you share with your firstborn. But ADAM-make sure she does. Once a week I get away without the kids. Even if it's cleaning the bathroom without interruption. Your sanity means the sanity of your household. DOn't lose it sister. And lastly, only listen to the advice you really want. Don't listen at all. YOu will figure it out.
Hey Andrea! As the sister of baby Brianne, I'm sure I can tell you something from a non-mother. First of all, their diapers are crazy bad. Be prepared for some blowouts, and don't yell at them for doing it. Second of all, Mom says its best when you talk to them when you are changing them as well. Mom said that she read it in some magazine. It's not too much help, but I'm sure it will help some. Mom is also teaching Brianne sign language. So Brianne is already talking to us without using words. I'm sure Jellybean would LOVEEE to do that as well. I miss you like crazy and I hope everything is going fantastic over there! Can't wait to see you, Adam and Baby Jellybean! :)
Sorry...nothing by experience from us just yet (I'll be waiting for you to give me some tips!) But I've always felt putting as much of the Word in a child's heart as they grow is one of the wisest things a parent can do. It will NOT return void in his little heart:)
Don't worry you will make stupids mistakes. I have made lots of them and it is only five month since our's have arrive. But Jellybean will survive and soar with your love and attention.
Hey mommy to be, as a new mommy you will be bombarded with tips and tidbits. Mine to add, trust your instincts. Do what seems right to you and trust your heart. Embrace each moment because they will fly by! SLEEP WHEN BABY SLEEPS!!!!
Love jellybean, sing to jellybean, hold and rock and play and enjoy jellybean as much as possible. And continue remembering over and over what a wonderful blessing He's given to you. Andrea, you are going to be a wonderful mother & I know He is going to use this in your life to bless you, awe you, and teach you even more than you ever expected.
Let everyone do everything for you as long as possible. All your help will be gone before you know it. I'm sure you know this, but some women are fooled by their husbands that they are incapable of changing diapers, but men can change poop and pee just as well as we can. I'm sure Adam would never do that, but just in case, I wanted to set the record straight.
What can I share after having 3 little ones? It's never easy, but it's always rewarding- Don't ever take for granted one single moment of it- even the 3am feedings, tear sessions and struggles. He will use those times to teach you to trust in Him, to rely on His strength when yours is gone and to gently remind you that He has equipped you to take care of little Jellybean in a unique and special way!
